My daughter has a rare thing- no permanent tooth under her baby tooth.?
So they have capped it, and told me about it. But does anyone know (before i go back there) what they might do for her when she loses the capped tooth? Are they going to suggest to give her an implant? Has anyone ever had this?
It's more common than you think. Chances are, it will stay in longer since there's nothing coming in under it to push it out. Implants will probably be suggested at some point, and hopefully they will have come down in $ when she needs it. Don't do bridge-that would require shaving down a perfectly good tooth to anchor onto. Implants are expensive but the best way to go. Until she's an adult, I would stick to temporary fixes (removeable retainer w/fake tooth) if she loses her baby tooth on her own. Don't let them pull it!!! I'm wondering if it even needed a crown? Did it have decay?
