Traffic School - Does Your Car Color Determine Whether Your Personality Will Send You There?
In the "Color Answer Book" by Leatrice Eiseman, the author asserts that the color of a vehicle can reveal much about the owner's personality. I took a look around at the vehicles of my family, friends and acquaintances and took pause. Overall, her theories were amazingly accurate.
Eiseman describes the personality of someone who owns a vibrant red car as "sexy, speedy, high-energy and dynamic". Notice the word "speedy". This must be why the "red cars get more tickets" theory is so prevalent in our traffic school classes.
Unfortunately the CHP doesn't keep statistics on the colors of cars that they cite, but I think Eiseman is onto something. You just don't see that many conservative grandmothers from Bakersfield cruising at the speed limit in bright red cars.
If silver is your preferred car color, Eisman says that you "are elegant, love futuristic looks and are cool".
According to Dupont Automotive, the world's leading supplier of color coatings to the automotive industry, silver has superseded white as the most popular car color since the year 2000. That means that if you are looking for a "cool" significant other, one that is not too likely to end up getting a traffic citation and ending up in traffic school, you will have quite a field of potential prospects to choose from.
It appears that someone with a gold car- "intelligent, warm, loves comfort and will pay for it" might be suited perfectly to someone with a black car- "empowered, not easily manipulated, loves elegance and appreciates the classics". A match made in car heaven.
If you are looking for someone who marches to their own drummer, look for someone who drives a yellow, orange or purple car. Those with "sunshine yellow cars" are said to have a "sunny disposition, and are joyful and young at heart".
Drivers of orange cars are "fun loving, talkative, fickle and trendy".
And drivers of deep purple cars are "creative, individualistic and original". In a traffic school class, this would be the corner that might be most fun to sit in.
If you prefer a more serious significant other, you might want to check out someone who drives a white car as they are "fastidious", a dark blue car, as they are "credible, confident and dependable" or the driver of a neutral gray vehicle who is said to be- "sober, corporate, practical and pragmatic". No traffic school candidate there.
Looking for a "down-to-earth, no-nonsense" type? Set your sights on someone who drives a deep brown vehicle.
And the car color of choice for those that have "timeless, basic and simple tastes" is taupe or light brown.
However, if you are truly ready to settle down, you might want to look for someone who drives a light to mid-blue car; as in addition to being "cool" they are also "calm, quiet and faithful". Another spousal choice might be the driver of a dark green vehicle, as they are "traditional, trustworthy and well-balanced".
This could start a whole new trend in dating. "What's your car color?" and "How many times have you attended traffic school?", could replace "What's Your Sign?".
Or, for those that have already found your soul mate, you might have to go out into the garage, take a good look at your partner's car color, and do some serious re-thinking.
