Daytona 500 finish... Nascar makes the right call?
I think they did... Although it may not fall into the consistent barrel that they preach about, the call was right. What good would throwing the yellow do? The wreck was already happening, and the cars werent going to be coming back around where there could of been a bigger problem. They let the 2 decide it on the track. Martin didnt lose that race because of NASCAR's call.. Martin lost that race because Harvick had a run from hell, and then Kyle Busch spun and Martin lost his push.. Harvicks run on the high side was enough to let him squeeze by @ the right time. As much as I wanted to see Martin win that race.. NASCAR did it right. They should always get to race back to the line, but ONLY ON THE LAST LAP...
I've been wondering about this too. It seems like in the past NASCAR officials have thrown the yellow on a final lap. Regardless of who won the race, the yellow flag would have allowed those drivers caught behind the accident to regain their positions and points. Whatever the call NASCAR should and usually does stay consistent.
