How Customer Loyalty Reigned
The biggest car companies have always been indebted to their loyal patrons. After all, this is the main reason why they have managed to survive in the car industry for years. This has been true for the Ford Motor Company, together with one of its iconic vehicles, the Ford Taurus. The Ford Taurus has become a memorable and loved mid-size car not only in the US, but also in other parts of the world. In fact, it is a well-known “milestone design” for Ford and the American automotive industry as well. This breakthrough might be quite hard to match as no other vehicle design has come close.
It was in the mid-1980s when Ford rolled out the Taurus that would withstand four generations of loyal service to America. The Taurus was well-lauded by journalists. Aside from winning awards such as the Motor Trend's Car of the Year in its first launch, it was also among the Car and Driver's Ten Best list through the years of its four generations. This could be credited to the high-quality Ford Taurus parts, made by the trademark ingenuity of the Ford Motor Company. The Taurus also carried out well in the arena of race car driving, with all its remarkable performances in the NASCAR. This was made possible by the upgraded Ford Taurus parts, including the V6 engine, which during that time was a definite fighter in any battle. The Taurus was entered as well in other competitions, which led to satisfying results that all the more added credibility to the already well-recognized car. In 2006, however, Ford decided to stop the production of the Taurus to prioritize the other car models.
In time, Ford realized how much the Taurus has meant to the American people. The Ford Taurus parts were still in high demand despite the last of the fourth generation's car roll out. This prompted Ford to regenerate the Ford Taurus with the fifth generation, creating Tauruses under the class Ford Five Hundred sedan. The same reliability of the Ford Taurus parts was still incorporated. However, they were enhanced with greater power, higher efficiency, and more durability.
In realizing that taking away the Taurus would mean disregarding the automotive industry niche that the Ford has enjoyed because of the public, the automaker has decided instead to repay the loyal patronage of its customers in the best way it could. By delivering cars manufactured with premium parts that could outlast all generations, Ford has made the right choice.
