Father's Day Gift Suggestions for the Dad Who Has Everything
Father’s Day is right around the corner. Whether you call him Dad, Daddy, Pop or Pa, here are a few suggestions for gifts that will surprise and wow him on his special day.
1. Gift Certificate to a Masseuse. Help your father relieve stress and tension (and back pain from manly endeavors in the yard) with a gift certificate to a massage therapist or a local spa that offers massage. Check your yellow pages (or online) for ones in your area. Many massages can be purchased for less than the cost of a nice shirt and tie from a department store, and it’s a unique gift he’ll remember for years to come.
2. Garden Ornaments. Decorative touches add interest and appeal to a garden, and may not be something your father would automatically think about purchasing. Gnomes are a traditional choice, and come in a wide variety of styles and sizes, in both online stores and traditional hardware emporiums. Consider also bamboo wind chimes, gazing globes, and outdoor fountains. Garden ornaments add the extra touch to a garden that takes it from a special space to a spectacular one!
3. Keychain digital photo album. Is your dad a doting grandpa? Pick up a keychain digital photo album so he can carry around his pride and joy with him everyday. Bonus points for uploading pictures for him!
4. Send him back to school. Many community colleges offer non-credit courses in fun topics like cooking, bird watching, digital photography and more! Get Dad out of the house and exploring something he’s always been interested in or has for a current hobby. Gift certificates may be available at the school, or simply register Dad (after checking his schedule, discreetly) and pay for the course at that time.
5. Decorate his man room. Or tool shed or living room. Look to the current décor and Dad’s current hobbies and interests for ideas on theme. NASCAR fan? Pick up pilsner glasses, a lamp or coasters. Fishing enthusiast? How about a singing fish clock or a Gone Fishin’ sign? The possibilities are endless.
So, before you run to the mall and pick up the same old shirt and tie, consider these suggestions and give Dad a gift he’ll truly treasure (and one that doesn’t need ironing).
