Gordon Shedden Conquers Race One at Oulton Park

Gordon Shedden took a masterful triumph as he won first place in race one at Oulton Park with his Honda Civic machine equipped with Honda Civic performance parts. He scored his first victory of the season ahead of Fabrizio Giovanardi (Vauxhall) and Colin Turkington (BMW).

Claiming the second win this year for Honda Civic, Team Dynamics driver Shedden had began on the grid from second but got past pole sitter Turkington at the first corner on lap two. From there, no one was successful in over taking him.

Shedden told autosport.com that the race result was really good. He added that he really thinks that they had a good speed during the qualifying and he was just robbed of pole by Turkington. Shedden further said that Turkington was probably returning the favor from Croft. Once he had the opportunity to get into the front, according to Shedden, he just kept it clean and safe for his first win of the season.

Lining up sixth on the grid, Giovanardi made an excellent start. By lap two, he was also running second. With all the pressures from Turkington and Matt Neal, he stacked on to the position. In effect, he has now taken the lead of the drivers' title from Jason Plato, who finished in the seventh place.

Giovanardi reacted that he had a very good start but he was a bit surprised due to the ballast. He is confident about the second race but he was uncertain of the results if the rain pours down.

All through out the race, it was dry but the rain that had been predicted all weekend that I would start to fall just minutes after the checkered flag has been raced and has not let up as the teams be ready for the second race.

With Turkington having the fastest lap of 1:28.831 on lap 6, the results of race one is listed.
