Coca Cola IPO - Top Secrets Of Coke’s Success
Desp: Do you follow IPOs? Then this article will tell you all about the Coca Cola IPO.
“The pause that always refreshing.”
“Always the only Real Thing.”
Those mentioned above are the slogans used by Coca Cola Company.
It’s been one twenty years since coca cola has started and have expanded so far that even the people of the wild Africa is familiar with its carbonated taste. And those billboard advertisements, advertise that polar bear and the Eskimo’s also cannot resist the drink.
Coca cola also called coke is most famous drink in the world. The headquarters are situated at Atlanta, Georgia. Founder of the coca cola company is Asa Candler. He was the first man to start this huge company and left many successors who followed him and thus coke became the most widely wanted drink in the whole of United States and every other country later.
Under the world famous coke brand name were introduced various other drinks like that of the cherry coke which is less famous and the other one is the diet coke. Coca Cola Company had several issues in the past and one in the year 1902 was that, these coke manufacturers were mixing small amounts of cocaine in their drink. And only after that discovery and according to the health regulations that slight mixture of cocaine was stopped. Then later problems due to bad affects of coke on health and problems created by the Pepsi group manufacturers also caused bit of a problem.
Though the coke company has undergone various problems still it delivers the best and is still the most favorite for many all around the world.
And that was a brief history about the coke company and also not to miss is their initial public offerings similar to what many big companies all over the world have done.
These public offering means that the company when first established have given their corporate common shares to all common man for their additional revenues.
This happened in the year nineteen because of the IPO. Every single share holds a value of 40 dollars. But in the year 1920 these values dropped to nineteen dollars each share.
Still Coke Company did not panic and continued to manufacture and expand in the Asian and the European market. And in the course period various other companies joined hand with the coke company group and helped in adding their revenue generating capacity. The other affiliates too joined IPO among which were the coca cola icecek an affiliate company of the coke group in turkey.
Coke icecek had fifty nine percent shares in turkey in the year 1993. This company alone had a turn over of 1 million lira that is equal to seven hundred and forty million. Then this company went public. They got the permission from capital market board which is the central regulatory authority for IPO for twenty point sixteen percent from the total shares.tuncay ozilhan who is the chairman for the Turkish coke unit wished for the green signal from board by the may end or beginning of June 2006 so that they can launch IPO , and then it got delayed for many times. anadolu efes who was the owner of coke icecek and owned about forty-five point six percent shares in the year 2004 appointed credit Suisse who was the first Boston person to change IPO rules and make new one or upgrade them.
But all that happen and the postponing of IPO never let the coke company loose its importance in the world.
