What is the eco-friendly alternative to red waxed cotton thread?
If you don't need it waxed, use unwaxed. There is also soy and other plant-based waxes. It burns more intensly, but it works fine. With the declining honey bee numbers, I'd stay away from bees wax until they rebound.
