Why are so many NASCAR fans bashing Dale Earnhardt, Jr?
Just from reading alot of different questions on here, it seems like NASCAR's most popular driver is somehow NASCAR's most hated driver as well? What's going on with all the Dale Jr. bashing?
True fans don't bash.
Jr FANATICS & Jr haters are riding on two bandwagons side by side, sniping at each other, without regard to what the sport is all about.
I always thought enjoying a sport meant enjoying watching genuine competition. One can be a fan of one side or the other (or in our case, one driver or another) without hating or bashing, regardless of the outcome. It's OK to be disappointed that you favorite didn't win, but bashing one of the competitors because they did or didn't win is simply unsportsmanlike behavior.
EDIT: I changed "fanatics" to "FANATICS" to differentiate between fans and fanatics. There is a difference.
