Why cant NASCAR open up the rules and let our great drivers and builders?
NASCAR makes rules to "save money"but do teams ever quit trying to get more?Do thay give money back? Why cant NASCAR open up the rules and let our great drivers and builders showcase their talent, racing history shows ideas and talent have beaten money on many occasions
They were talking about this on a racing show I produce every Monday at the radio station where I work. There are a great deal of people who race with other types of vehicles (around here it's mostly SK Modified) who are fed up with the way NASCAR has become so insular. Those with true abilities never seem to get noticed, nor do they really have any way to move up from what they do. It's also interesting that NASCAR took a few of the modified teams' engines with them to their research labs for a few days to "analyze" them. They'll take, but they won't give, and something isn't kosher about that.
In the end, you have it right---it all comes down to money. NASCAR is a gravy train for those involved, and they don't want anyone else having a bit of it. It really is little more than a show, and the drivers celebrities.
